Add and Edit UI Blocks

  1. Go to Admin> Settings > University Properties > User Interface.
  2. You will be on the Block Content tab, defaulted to Homepage. Blocks can be added to Homepage and Course Catalog. Click add block.
    • To edit a previously created block, locate the block and click the green pencil icon.
    • If your University has multiple languages enabled, use the language drop-down to customize blocks for each site view.
  3. Set a title, determine the audience, and decide the block layout and content.
    • Permissions for audience options are: everyone, logged out, logged in, certain groups. This is a great way to create custom content to cater to each specific audience.
    • Layout options are: single column, 2 equal columns, main content with right column, row of 3, row of 4, and row of 5.
  4. Block Options:
    • Banner Block: You can add a background photo; any text will overlay the photo (full banner recommended 1400 x 500 pixels; half banner recommended 600 x 500 pixels).
    • My Enrolled Training: This will show a learner’s currently enrolled training - both Training Tracks™ and courses.
    • Featured Training: This is a way to create a custom list of currently featured content (see article).
    • Recently Added Courses: Shows recently added courses that learner has access to. There is an option to set the number of courses shown.
    • Training List: Create a custom list of content for learners to view - this can include courses, Training Tracks, and categories.
    • Welcome Block: A custom block that can be used to welcome learners to your University. Features WYSIWYG editor.
      • Tokens [[firstname]] and [[lastname]] will only be applicable to logged in learners.
    • Custom Content:
      • Note – this is where the WYSIWYG editor is. You can add videos; max video file size for a block is 50MB.
    • Leaderboard: Set up a leaderboard for users to compare where they are at with training progress. Only logged in users will see this block.
      • Time range options: 7 days, entire month, this year to date, and all time.
      • Choose groups to exclude from the leaderboard.
