This feature uses AI to analyze learner activity, profiles, and course data to deliver personalized course suggestions.
Key Benefits
- Increased Course Discovery – Learners are guided toward courses they might not have found on their own, without exposing them to off-limits content.
- Higher Enrollment Rates – By surfacing only eligible and available courses, the likelihood of learners enrolling increases.
- Improved Engagement – Personalized, relevant recommendations encourage learners to return, explore more content, and stay active within your university.
What the AI Recommender Does
The recommender analyzes:
- Learner activity (enrollments, completions, assessments)
- User profile attributes (job title, location, group memberships)
- Course information (topics, length, format, and more)
- Popularity and engagement patterns across the university
The result: personalized course suggestions that make it easier for learners to find the right content and stay engaged.
How Course Eligibility Works
Eligibility follows these business rules:
- Only courses displayed in the Catalog are eligible.
- Inactive or deleted courses are excluded.
- Group restrictions—whether applied directly to a course or indirectly through a category—are respected, ensuring that learners only see permitted courses.
What Admins Need to Know
- In the Course Editor (Step 2 – Display), you now choose how the “Recommended for You” section works (available only if the Incremental Learning Portal feature is active):
- AI Course Recommender Engine → personalized AI suggestions.
- Choose Courses Manually → select up to 4 courses/tracks.
- Disabled → hide recommendations.
- Existing manual setups remain unchanged. New courses default to AI recommendations (Always shown).
