You can include YouTube videos in your courses.
From the YouTube video:
- Click the Share button below the video.
- Click Embed.
- Copy the content from the Embed page.
- Paste into Notepad (or a blank document, email, etc. - whatever's handy).
- Delete everything before and after (and including) the quotation marks around the URL.
- Copy that new URL.
Example:
Before - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
After - https://www.youtube.com/embed/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=_ZWK4qbMJgtYsBaZ
In the Course:
- Got to My University > Catalog > Courses.
- Select a course to edit or click Add A Course.
- Go to 3. Modules.
- Click Add Module.
- Under Module Type, select Link To URL.
- Click Next at the bottom of the page.
- Paste the copied link in Content URL.
- (Optional Step) Enter in any required viewing minutes.
- Click the Next.
- Go to Step 5--Next Steps.
- Click Preview This Course.
- When done, click Finished.
NOTE: Some videos are available for downloading, which can be an option (using the above steps, under Module Type, select Upload File instead of Link to URL). However, a lot of YouTube videos are not available for downloading, so this is our recommended method.
