We're excited to announce a major redesign of the Sharing Center, starting with an all-new Alerts & Notifications experience. This is the first in a series of releases rolling out over the next two quarters, each building on the last to make course sharing between Publishers and Subscribers faster, clearer, and easier to manage.
Why we're making these changes
Course sharing is at the heart of how universities collaborate on BlueVolt — but we've heard from customers that the current experience makes it too easy to miss a request or lose track of activity. Admins have told us they want:
clearer visibility into what needs their attention
fewer places to check for updates
confidence that nothing is slipping through the cracks
The new Sharing Center is our answer. We're rebuilding it in stages so improvements reach you sooner, starting with the changes that solve the most urgent pain points first.
What's new in this release
Alerts & Notifications
Admins no longer have to remember to check for share requests — the new Sharing Center surfaces them the moment they arrive.
Unread badges and counts — Red notification badges in the main menu and tab headers, plus unread counts on each tab, make new requests hard to miss.
Real-time notifications tray — Key events surface the moment they happen, including direct course shares received, enrollment limits being approached or hit, and publishers stopping a shared course.
A unified Requests hub
The "Notifications" tab has been renamed to Requests and now consolidates inbound and outbound activity into one workspace, so admins no longer have to move between screens to manage the same workflow.
Received, Sent, and History views — Separate views for inbound requests, outbound requests, and past decisions make it easy to see what needs attention and what's already been handled.
Search, filter, and sort — Every request table supports search, filter, and sort, making it practical to work through large backlogs of requests.
Who this is for
These updates are available to University Admins at Publisher and Subscriber universities — anyone who manages inbound share requests, acts on direct shares, or monitors sharing activity as part of their workflow.
Learner experience is unchanged.
Rollout
This release is in beta and will roll out gradually to all universities over the next few weeks. No action is required on your end — the new experience will appear automatically when your university is included in the rollout. When your university is part of the rollout, you’ll see the new Requests tab and notification badges in the Sharing Center. Existing requests carry over, and no workflows will break.
What's next
This is the first release in a multi-quarter initiative to modernize the Sharing Center. Additional improvements are planned over the next two quarters, including:
Cancel and expire options on sent requests
Course preview directly from the request view
An all‑new LINK experience
Shared Training Tracks
Expanded filtering and workflow tools
We'll share more details as each release approaches.
